International conventions and seminars increasingly take place using an international working language. This allows you to get your message across to as many visitors as possible without too much difficulty. Most speakers have a sufficient command of the English language and will often choose to present in English. Most visitors will also have a good command of the English language and will be able to follow the presentation very well. However, there are always exceptions. In countries where little or no English is spoken, learning the English language is not exactly a priority. Following an English speaker can therefore pose a problem. At conventions and seminars with many international guests, presentations are often translated live via simultaneous translation.

Simultaneous translation

It all seems very complicated and technical, but it’s not that difficult to use our translations sets. We only use Sennheiser materials. They have been the market leader in the field of wireless technology for years and also supply systems that are especially suitable for simultaneous translation. The tech included in this set works in conjunction with other essential business event technology. A mixer, speakers and microphones and already needed to make the speaker heard by the audience that already understands the working language. The tech in this translation set allows an audio feed of the speaker to reach the interpreter via their control panel. The interpreter can determine how loudly he or she wants to hear the audio through their headphones by using the settings. The microphone on this panel picks up the interpreter's translation and sends it to a transmitter. The audience members in need of a translation will receive the interpreter’s signal via the receiver, which will then play the audio through their headphones. When using multiple interpreters, it is important to be careful that that the interpreters do not disturb each other. This is why separate rooms are often reserved for the different interpreters. This way they do not bother each other. Do the interpreters have to be present in the room itself? Then you can make use of interpreting booths. This gives the interpreters a view of the stage and allows them to include imagery in their translation. These interpreting booths are not included in this set.

Two languages

This set includes the materials needed to do two simultaneous translations. This includes two control panels with two transmitters. Using these, each interpreter has control over his own translation and will not be hindered by the other interpreter. The transmitters are used to send the translations to the audience. They can follow these translations via the wireless receivers. Using these receivers, you can choose which translation you want to listen to. These are indicated on the display by name and number. The participants can easily set which language they want to listen to. There is a knob on the receiver with which participants can determine the volume of their headphones. This allows your audience members to set the volume to whatever is comfortable for them without disturbing your other guests.

Interpreters

We are an event technology supplier and therefore only provide the necessary technology and technicians. Unfortunately we cannot help you with the interpreters. Presentations and conferences are often chock-full of specific language on a certain subject. It can therefore be difficult for an interpreter to translate words or phrases which are discipline-specific. This is why you often see that the same interpreters are used more often at conventions and presentations given by the same company in different locations. They are usually familiar with the specific language use and are therefore better able to translate it. Productions requiring translation are often made to measure right down to the details.
