When you want to give a presentation or guided tours at a location with a lot of noise pollution or where there is a restriction on noise production, you may be faced with a tough challenge. Guided tours

For locations such as museums, only minimal amounts of sound may be produced. This makes it difficult for a presenter to address a whole group without disturbing others. This also applies to locations with a lot of ambient noise. Translation

Whispering interpreting – a variant of simultaneous interpreting - is a good solution. The interpreter translates the presentation for a small part of the audience, so that they can still follow the presentation in their own language. A possible disadvantage of whisper interpreting, mainly applicable to the audience members who are proficient in the language, is that the whisper of the interpreter can always be heard in the background.
