Panel Discussion Set 1

What exactly is a panel discussion? A panel discussion is an event during which a panel of experts conducts a group discussion for an audience. Of course, this means that it’s important that the audience can understand the panel well. Even all the way in the back. The use of microphones is essential and unavoidable. This complete set is very suitable for small-scale events. This set consists of a compact and elegant sound system, which is powerful enough for an audience of up to 50 people. It also includes four gooseneck microphones for the panel and a complete control rack for controlling the microphones and speakers. Of course, this set isn’t exclusively for panel discussions. You can use it for any event during which a group of speakers needs to get their message across. This includes interviews, press conferences, discussions and forum discussions.

Panel discussion

With a total of 4 table microphones, this set is extremely useful for a small panel discussion or press conference. This does not necessarily mean that this equipment can only be used for panels of up to 4 people. Depending on the layout and assignment of the table microphones, you may choose not to assign each panel member their own microphone. Sharing a microphone between two or more speakers is an option. This set has been designed for a wide table behind which the panel will sit. The gooseneck microphones are placed on the table. Does your event have a different setup, such as a square, boardroom or cabaret? That sounds a bit more like a meeting. We have special sets available for those types of events. Not quite sure? Microphones

Do I actually need to use the included gooseneck microphones? It’s not required, but we really do recommend using them. The properties of these gooseneck microphones make them perfect for panel discussions and press conferences. A gooseneck microphone has a long, thin flexible neck. You can bend it in any desired position and always point it perfectly towards the speaker. This makes microphone sharing viable. A panel member can bend the microphone towards his mouth easily and start speaking. In addition to these physical properties, these microphones are wired to come into their own at these types of events. These microphones have a higher sensitivity than commonly used speech / vocal microphones. This makes it possible to speak a little further away from the microphone without the audience hearing it any softer. Gooseneck microphones can’t stay upright on their own, which is why each one will come with its own table stand. These small stands consist only of a round base, which means that they take up very little space on the table. The table stand is equipped just one button. It’s an important one, though! It allows panel members to switch the microphone on and off. If a certain panel member does not want to be audible to the audience for a moment, he or she simply presses the button to mute the microphone. With another push on the button the microphone is switched on again. More panellists? No problem. Via the related items at the bottom of this page you can easily and quickly add extra gooseneck microphones and table stands. For every extra microphone an extra table stand will need to be added as well.

Speakers

This set comes with 2 compact speakers through which the audio captured by the mics will be played. These speakers also have their own chic looking stands. These stands have no protruding parts, unlike tripod stands. This makes this sound system also very suitable for more elegant locations such as meeting centres and hotels. This sound system is powerful enough to amplify speech for an audience of up to 50 people. It goes without saying that all the necessary cabling will be included.

Directing

This is an essential part of the configuration, but there’s absolutely nothing to worry about. We designed this control rack with the layman in mind. The mixer has therefore been fitted with a touch screen. Know how to work a smartphone or tablet? Then - after a brief explanation – you’ll have no issues with this control rack. If you don’t want to stress about the tech during your event, we recommend having our technicians assemble and disassemble the set. This way you can be sure that everything is properly connected and set up and the panel discussion can start without a hitch.
