Nowadays you can connect to the internet at almost every event. It varies per event whether this connection is wireless or wired. Are you expecting a lot of visitors? Then a wireless connection is preferable. This allows visitors to easily connect their phone or laptop to the network. It’s also not tied to a fixed location. This is particularly convenient for guests visiting your event for a short amount of time. However, when it comes to reliability, wireless networks are at a disadvantage. The range of the signal depends on many external factors. A wired network connection is often faster than a wireless network, as well as being more stable due to the lack of external influences. This is why we often choose to use wired connections. In order to use wired connections, we use CAT5 ethernet cables.

CAT5 Properties

You can use this CAT5 cable (or CAT5e cable) to connect audiovisual devices to each other in order to exchange data- take, for example, a DJ mixer with multiple decks. This cable has RJ-45 connectors on both sides. Thanks to these connectors’ click system, you don't have to worry about accidentally pulling the cable out of the device. Each CAT5e cable has a male connector on both sides. This makes it impossible to connect these cables to each other. Do you need a different cable length? Use

A network cable is quite fragile, partly due to the thin wires. Keep this in mind when using our network cables on location. Tape off the cable in places such as doorways so that the cable is properly shielded. We expect our network cables to be returned to us in the same condition as they were when we supplied them to you. This means that you must also return the cables neatly coiled up. Make use of a handy cable tie for this purpose. This cable tie is also colour-coded so you can quickly see how long the cable in question is. 5 metre long cables come with a blue cable tie.
