A special kind of microphone is required to amplify percussion independently from, say, a choir. The AKG C430 is that microphone.

Characteristics

This cardioide condensor microphone is optimalised to amplify the frequencies of a high hat well and without too much static. This makes it a wonderful overhead microphone.

Phantom Power

This overhead mic needs phantom power to work and is best places well above the high hats on a microphone stand. The AKG C-430 comes with a unique microphone clip to mount it well. There is also a wind screen included for outdoor performances.

Placement

The AKG C-430 wrks best with a microphone stand or when hung up. Make sure that it is not too close with the instrument that is to be amplified.
